BIOGRAPHY

Mr Ambele Athumani Mwafula is the Manager of Information and Communication Technology and Statistics at the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA), who holds a master of science degree in computer science from the University of Dar es Salaam, majoring in ICT project management. Mr Mwafula has pioneered the establishment and strengthening of an effective Regulatory Information Management System (RIMS) within TMDA, which in return enabled the Authority to be amongst the best authorities in Africa and be ranked Maturity Level Three by the World Health Organization (WHO). Mr Mwafula designed and developed the Continental API Database. He is a member of the IMS Technical Working Group under AUDA-NEPAD.
