BIOGRAPHY

Moses Akampurira is the Chair of the African Blood Regulatory Technical Committee (ABR-TC), established under the African Medicines Regulatory Harmonisation (AMRH) programme. In this role, he provides strategic leadership in strengthening regulatory systems for blood products across Africa. His work within the ABR-TC focuses on developing harmonised regulatory frameworks, promoting quality and safety standards, and building capacity among national regulatory authorities to ensure equitable access to safe blood and blood products. Moses also serves as a Senior Inspector of Drugs with the Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA), where he leads Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections and provides technical expertise in the regulatory oversight of biological medicines, including vaccines, blood products, and other biotherapeutics. A pharmacist by profession, Moses holds postgraduate qualifications in immunology and vaccinology. His work bridges science, policy, and regulation, contributing to improved health emergency preparedness and advancing the continent’s goal of strengthening local pharmaceutical manufacturing.
