BIOGRAPHY

Dr Elirehema Mfinanga, MD is the Principal Programme Officer for Vigilance System Strengthening at the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). He has long experience in medicines and vaccines regulation and is a pioneer for electronic reporting systems to enhance vigilance and evidence-based safety monitoring across Africa.

He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Muhimbili University, Tanzania and an MSc in Vaccinology and Pharmaceutical Clinical Development from the University of Siena. Dr Mfinanga is also a WHO Global Benchmarking Tool assessor for vigilance functions.
