With nearly two decades of unwavering dedication to the advancement of higher education and pharmacy practice, Prof Neelaveni Padayachee stands as an experienced individual in academia and professional development.
Throughout her career, Prof Padayachee has left an indelible mark on scholarly discourse, with over 30 articles published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals. As an authority in pharmacovigilance, rational medicine use, and health system strengthening, she offers invaluable insights that shape the future of pharmaceutical care. She is currently the vice chair to the AUDA-NEPAD substandard and falsified medical products (SFMPs) committee and the interim chair (education and awareness subcommittee) to the national action plan on SFMPs in SA at the national regulatory authority (SAHPRA).
A mentor par excellence, she has shepherded close to 30 post graduate students toward academic excellence, instilling in them a passion for inquiry and a commitment to excellence. Beyond the confines of academia, her influence extends to the professional realm, where active engagement with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as an inspector underscores a steadfast dedication to upholding ethical standards and advancing educational practices within the pharmacy profession.
