Erick G. Philipo is an Assistant Lecturer and researcher at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), where he has served since 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Management (MSc) from MUHAS. At MUHAS, Erick is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring emerging pharmacy professionals.
Erickβs research interests focus on access to essential medicines and vaccines, medicines regulation, health supply chain management, and implementation science. He is currently involved in three research projects aimed at improving access to quality-assured medical products. His work seeks to strengthen regulatory systems and improve the quality, safety, and availability of medicines in Tanzania and other African countries.
Beyond his academic responsibilities, Erick collaborates with the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA) in delivering pharmacovigilance training to healthcare professionals across the country. With over three years of experience in health supply chain management and medicines regulation, he also served as an external expert for TMDA, focusing on the assessment of technical documentation for the marketing authorization of essential medicines.
Erick is a member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania (PST).
