Stuart Ssebibubbu is a Ugandan pharmacist and public health researcher at Afya na Haki Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master’s in Public Health. Deeply passionate about justice, equity, and African-led solutions, his work seeks to strengthen access to medicines, vaccine equity, and resilient health systems through rights-based and Africentric approaches. He has led and contributed to national and regional initiatives, including Uganda’s Essential Medicines List and Guidelines (2023), Medicine Innovation for All (MIFA), Advancing Regional Vaccine Manufacturing in Africa (ARMA), and Litigating Reproductive Justice in Africa (LIRA). His research connects pharmaceutical policy, human rights, and governance to promote equitable access to healthcare, data, and social justice. He has published in peer-reviewed journals on these themes, as well as on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), vaccine-preventable diseases, and emerging fields. Currently, he is expanding his work into climate change, pharmaceutical waste management, environmental justice, and community resilience in African health systems.
