Mr. Shimba is a young and talented Bachelor of Pharmacy graduate from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), currently completing his internship training at the Pharmacy Council, Dodoma, Tanzania.
He is passionate about servant leadership, public health advocacy, and creating positive societal change. Over the years, he has held several leadership roles in student and professional organizations. Notably, he served as President of the Marian Schools Students’ Organization (2015–2017 and 2018–2020) and as President of the Tanzania Pharmaceutical Students Association (TAPSA) (2022–2024).
In recognition of his growing expertise and commitment to public health, Mr. Shimba was appointed a Member of the Awareness Technical Working Group of the Multisectoral Coordinating Committee (MCC) on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Tanzania (2023–2028). He also served as a Public Health Committee Member of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) section under the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) (2023–2024).
Beyond his professional engagements, Mr. Shimba is a co-founder and Deputy Director of the Tanzania Youth Health and Development Organization (TYHDO), a youth-led platform that empowers young people to engage in advocacy, leadership, and AMR awareness initiatives.
His professional interests span pharmaceutical supply chains and systems strengthening, naturopathic pharmacy, informatics, and research. He is recognized for his organizational skills, leadership abilities, and success in coordinating health-related events and programs.
Mr. Shimba continues to dedicate his efforts toward improving health systems, promoting responsible medicine use, and supporting youth-driven health initiatives across Tanzania and Africa.
