BIOGRAPHY

Wiltshire C. N. Johnson is a distinguished pharmacist, regulatory scientist, and educator with more than twenty years of experience advancing medicines regulation, pharmaceutical systems strengthening, and public health across Africa.
A Foundation Fellow of the Sierra Leone Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, Dr Johnson has dedicated his career to ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of health products in resource-limited settings.
As Programme Coordinator for the Integrated Vector Management Project (AUDA-NEPAD), he has worked on developing and strengthening regulatory systems for genetic-based vector control technologies, including gene drive interventions, aimed at the elimination of malaria and other vector-borne diseases in Africa.
His work has contributed to building ethical, legal, and technical frameworks for evaluating gene drive research, helping shape regional and continental policies to guide innovation in biotechnology for public health.
