Asmaa Mahmoud is a highly accomplished professional in microbiology and immunology. She graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Pharmacy in 2010, earning both her master’s and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology. She has six international publications with an H-index of 6 in high-impact journals. Currently, Asmaa holds the position of Director at the Extract and Allergen Lab, where she oversees the operations and management of the laboratory. Additionally, she serves as a GMP inspector, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations Asmaa's commitment to education and knowledge-sharing is reflected in her recent work. She has received positive feedback for her teaching at national universities in Egypt, where she teaches undergraduate students, as well as for her instruction of postgraduate students at Cairo University.
In 2022, Asmaa obtained certification from Ain Shams University, enabling her to train professionals in various scientific and regulatory fields. She delivered specialised training on ICHQ5B, ICHQ5C, ICHQ5D, and ICHQ5E guidelines for the East African Community (EAC) in Musanze, Rwanda, in September 2024. Her engaging and clear teaching approach earned high praise, leading to an invitation to deliver the same material in Tanzania in June 2025, where her sessions were equally well-received.
Asmaa participated as a dossier assessor in the AUDA-NEPAD pilot phase, applying her expertise in biological technical assessments and registering in the continental regulatory expert solution. She also contributed to the WHO GBT Maturity Level 3 activities at the Egyptian Drug Authority, delivering training for RCORE, and supported the development of monographs in the Egyptian pharmacopoeia.
