BIOGRAPHY

Maikaego Nelson Moreri is a regulatory affairs professional dedicated to ensuring that every medicine available to the people of Botswana meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

He began his regulatory career as a Dossier Assessment Specialist at the Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BoMRA), where he developed strong expertise in pharmaceutical evaluation and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as a Regulatory Officer – Inspections and Licensing at BoMRA, he oversees GMP and GDP compliance and coordinates the inspection of public facilities nationwide.

Mr Moreri’s career spans both the public and private sectors. In the private sector, he managed a pharmaceutical distribution company and served as Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Manager for a manufacturing plant, leading the achievement of BoMRA licensing and ISO 9001 certification.

Holding a Master of Pharmacy from Aston University (UK) and certifications in Enterprise Risk Management and Project Management, he combines technical expertise with a strategic understanding of how regulatory excellence drives healthcare improvement.

Passionate about capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and a culture of quality, Mr Moreri continues to shape Botswana’s regulatory landscape, ensuring that public health is protected through trustworthy and high-quality medicines.
