BIOGRAPHY

Kwaku Marfo is a life sciences professional with experience in clinical practice, pharmaceuticals, and global health across the US, Europe, and Africa. Currently, as IQVIA's Africa Market Development Specialist, he’s driving strategies to increase Africa’s participation in global clinical trials. In his previous roles at Novartis, he led the global medical affairs initiatives for sickle cell disease (SCD), supported WHO-Afro SCD management guidelines (SICKLE), drove hydroxyurea regulatory approvals in more than 15 African countries, and contributed to the implementation of point-of-care SCD testing. He chairs the board at Sickle Forward and holds an honorary fellowship at SickleInAfrica. Kwaku’s work focuses on improving access to healthcare and the development and delivery of innovations for underserved communities.
