BIOGRAPHY

Sakhile Dube-Mwedzi serves as the Coordinator of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Medicines Regulatory Harmonization (MRH) Programme. A pharmacist by training and a regulatory scientist by vocation, she has been actively involved in the programme since 2015. In her current role, she provides strategic and operational support to the Host Agency – the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) and to the SADC Medical Products Regulators Forum, ensuring the effective coordination of programme implementation across all SADC Member States, including oversight of ZAZIBONA activities.

Mrs Dube-Mwedzi is a highly experienced pharmaceutical expert and regulator with over 25 years of service in the pharmaceutical sector. Her career spans regulatory consultancy, project management, and leadership of inspection teams to verify compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). A former Head of the Inspectorate at the MCAZ, she has led inspections of more than 200 pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Her deep expertise and leadership continue to contribute to the strengthening of medicines regulatory systems across the SADC region.
